Eutronica Srl has developed an AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) called ‘Jobot’, designed to handle small loads. For this AMR, it wanted to create a series of features specifically aimed at tackling the Covid-19 pandemic and, in particular, at combating the spread of the virus in workplaces and hospitals. Eutronica expressed the need to collaborate with a partner who would pursue the creation of two accessories for sanitisation using UV-C light: a module for sanitising environments, to be installed on the Jobot, and a tunnel for sanitising the load transported by the AMR when it is in material transport configuration.
The project began with a study of the requirements and main parameters involved in the design of UV-C sanitisation systems. This was followed by the design phase, followed by the creation of prototypes and their experimental validation. All activities were carried out in close collaboration with Eutronica staff. The final output consisted of the supply of prototype systems for the environment sanitisation accessory and the sanitisation tunnel.
The system developed as part of the J4S project can be used in all applications where certain hygiene standards must be maintained, not only in relation to the spread of Covid-19 but also to all pathogens that can be effectively eliminated with UV-C radiation.
