The CIRCES project aims to promote the development of circular design skills in vocational education and training (VET) systems, to improve the skills of trainers and prepare new generations to respond to the changes required by the world of work on circular models of sustainable development.
To achieve this objective, a teaching methodology has been developed based on a training toolkit with game-based digital tools made available on an online platform (https://www.circes.eu/).
The project was able to directly involve target groups (teachers and students in upper secondary schools and VET systems) and stakeholders (professionals and companies) to maximise impact and sustainability.
Starting from a participatory co-design process, methodological approaches and training models were evaluated to identify the knowledge gap between trainers and students on the circular economy and circular design. The CIRCES curriculum on these topics was then defined and an online training toolkit was developed to provide teachers with guidelines for using innovative game-based teaching methodologies and to provide students with an environment in which to train in skills that are increasingly in demand in the green and digital job market.
Transnational cooperation between partners and target groups and networking has fostered an exchange of perspectives and practices whose benefits go beyond CIRCES, as they can translate into new project opportunities for further study, such as Erasmus+ mobility or twinning.
