The local manufacturing sector was facing increasing pressure to digitise its production processes, improve operational efficiency and reduce costs, while maintaining high quality standards. Bucci Automations needed concrete tools to tackle the transition to Industry 4.0, leveraging enabling technologies such as IoT and cloud services. The project was created to respond to this need, offering technical and managerial support for the adoption of innovative and sustainable solutions.

Romagna Tech developed a customised innovation support programme, which included technology scouting, the design of tailor-made solutions and the prototyping of an edge-cloud monitoring system applicable to all the client company’s machinery. The team worked closely with Bucci Automations to identify the most suitable technologies, define a development roadmap and implement digital tools capable of improving productivity and competitiveness. The added value was the integrated approach, which combined technical and managerial expertise, ensuring concrete and measurable results.

The technical solution and methodology adopted can be easily replicated in other industrial contexts, particularly in the mechanical, agri-food and biomedical sectors. It can be offered to SMEs wishing to embark on digital transformation, even if they lack internal expertise, thanks to its modular and scalable approach.
