The client company, holder of an Italian patent for an industrial invention relating to a protective device for vehicles, requested specialist consultancy services with a view to implementing all necessary actions to enhance the patent in terms of profitability, productivity and market development, starting with its preliminary development and experimental validation.
Romagna Tech’s consultancy services covered both the feasibility study and the design and engineering phase of an initial prototype of the patented solution.
Starting with a study of the patent and claims to determine the design constraints, we moved on to a preliminary analysis of the fundamental elements of the device and the identification of its possible forms of implementation. Both custom 3D-printed components and custom inflatable components were used to create the first prototypes.
We then moved on to the executive design of a first version of the hail protection system prototype, supporting the client in identifying possible suppliers for commercial components and an industrial partner for the production of the device.
The final results were then reported in the guidelines for the engineering and industrialisation of the product.
This industrial research and experimental development activity can be implemented in all contexts where the client, starting from an initial idea, whether patented or not, needs to explore different possible forms of implementation and then be supported in identifying the most promising solution from which to develop a demonstration prototype.
