Globally, resource exploitation is expected to double by 2060 and energy demand is expected to increase by 30% by 2040. In this context, green hydrogen plays a crucial role. To improve control, maintenance and safety throughout the entire hydrogen supply chain, the SensIdrogen project has been launched, which aims to develop and implement advanced sensors and innovative devices to monitor hydrogen leaks at production, storage and utilisation sites.
To demonstrate the versatility of this new technology, the project has led to the creation of two prototypes, each demonstrated in an environment relevant to the two identified use cases: one ‘wired’ (characterised by a high level of integration with the plant to be monitored) and one ‘wireless’ (simple to install and independent of the plant, so as not to interfere with the existing infrastructure).
At the end of the project, a working prototype will be available for each of the two scenarios in a relevant environment.
