The project aims to strengthen collaboration between partner organisations by facilitating peer learning, and to improve their ability to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) adapt to EU standards.
The partners jointly developed innovative procedures and practices to effectively align SMEs with EU standards. Particular attention was given to implementing regional pilot actions through: developing a self-audit tool on energy efficiency, the circular economy and digitalisation for SMEs; providing tailored technical training courses suited to the needs of SMEs; facilitating knowledge exchange and the transfer of best practices between regions; offering coaching and mentoring for specific skills related to adopting EU standards, particularly with regard to energy, the circular economy and digitalisation.
The SUSTAIN project aims to raise awareness and improve knowledge among SMEs of the benefits of adopting EU standards, particularly with regard to the incorporation of embedded know-how and the resulting potential for innovation. In collaboration with partners Energy & Innovation Center Weiz and Romagna Tech, the LIR Evolution team has drafted the Design Option Paper, a document providing guidelines to support SMEs in adapting to EU standards.
